A magic link is a secure, single-use link we email you that signs you in without a password. It's handy when you'd rather not type a password, and it's the way back in when you've forgotten one.
Getting a link
- Go to the sign-in page and enter your email.
- Press Continue.
- On the password screen, choose Email me a sign-in link.
Check your inbox — the link should arrive in a moment.
Clicking it
Opening the link brings you to a short AMP page with a Sign in button. Press it and you're signed in.
Why the extra button? Some email systems quietly open links to scan them for safety. That button means a scanner can't use up your link before you do — the link only gets spent when a real person presses it.
Good to know
- A link is good for 15 minutes, then it expires.
- Each link works once. Requesting a new one retires the old one.
- Always use the most recent link in your inbox.
- Clicking your link also confirms your email address, so it does double duty if you haven't confirmed yet.
The link expired
No problem at all — just request another from the sign-in page. There's no limit on how many you can ask for.
It never arrived
- Check your spam or promotions folder.
- Make sure you entered the address your account actually uses.
- Give it a couple of minutes; email can dawdle.
For your privacy, AMP always says the same thing after you request a link, whether or not that address has an account — so a typo looks exactly like success. If nothing turns up, a misspelled address is the usual culprit.
