Melissa McKinney

I am a Blues singer and teacher. I own a music school in WV and currently split my time between there and Asheville. As a single mom, I have devoted my life to my daughter and my school and have only recently began to focus on playing music again myself. I very much enjoy helping youth use their music to make a difference in the world and hope to continue that work and expand it to Asheville. (www.theonevoiceproject.com) I also manage my daughters band, The Change (www.areyoureadyforthechange.com) My daughter, Kayla is a music major at UNCA and is a singer and bass player. We hope to book some duo acoustic shows and delve more into the Asheville Music Scene together and separately with our bands. We LOVE Asheville and so very much appreciate the warm welcome we have received from so many.
