Preserving and Promoting Asheville's Music Scene
In early 2012, IamAVL or Independent Arts and Music of Asheville was founded by a team of local music professionals with the goal of preserving and promoting Asheville’s community. We set out to do so by documenting as much of the scene as we can, and creating some original content to showcase local artists. As a community based music web channel, we immediately fell into live concert streaming as one of the best ways to broadly share what the music scene here is like. Based out of the famed Echo Mountain Recording Studios, what we ended up creating is a first of it's kind platform that helps connect communities, business, and fans with their favorite bands.
IamAVL has set up remotely operable live streaming installations in several venues around the area, and on any given night of the week you can watch a band, or maybe 4, on our web channel playing live. We also bring our crew out to many local events and festivals to either live stream or archive the performances. As far as we are aware, we are the first platform in the world with multiple venues from one city available on one web channel on a nightly basis. We have a plethora of original content such as artist interviews, panel discussions, and our as well as our flagship series Echo Sessions, which is currently syndicated for rebroadcast on North Carolina's PBS station.
IamAVL also functions as a for hire video production company here to service any of your live concert recording needs. We have worked with bands, venues, and budgets of all shapes and sizes. Our knowledgeable, talented, and artistic crew can help create the live concert footage you have been looking for.
