David Simchock is a full-time professional photographer with over 17 years of experience in the business. A native of New Jersey, he has lived and traveled overseas for many years and now resides in the picturesque Blue Ridge Mountains just outside of Asheville, NC. His award-winning images have been featured in publications around the world (including Rolling Stone), and he has worked on assignments from the vast sands of the Sahara Desert, to the streets of Asheville, to the stages of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.
David has also exhibited his worldly images in galleries throughout the Northeast and Appalachia. In addition to his creative skills and services, he shares his passion for photography as a workshop instructor and tour leader, and as a public speaker. He's also writing a couple of books, while dabbling in poetry, lyric writing, and strumming his ukulele.
David is a big music fan, regularly covering gigs in and around Asheville. Specifically in the music business, both in Asheville and beyond, David works closely with artists, venues, event producers, publications, and anyone else who is interested in collaborating with him for their photography needs (including stock imagery, i.e., David's library of tens of thousands of concert and festival photos).
Locally, he is best known for his house photography work at Pisgah Brewing Company and at the Salvage Station, while also contributing his talents to numerous festivals (including the Warren Haynes Christmas Jam), local production companies (including iamAVL), and countless artists for their website, social media, EPK, and album/CD art needs.
